Excel Spreedsheet Experience

This activity helped me out a lot in learning new things about Excel, (click Excel to the left to view my spreed sheet) considering I really have never used Excel before. However, it was very frustrating to me at times because in the first activity we worked with I couldn't get my graphs to look right and when we used Microsoft word to go through our data that we did on Excel I found that very complicated because I wasn't sure what do and I wasn't very familiar with APA.

Photo Story

In class today we learned how to use photo story to take a power point show and turn it into a movie. We then uploaded it to YouTube so that the public will be able to see our creation. In this case we went to the Internet to find a powerpoint that had to deal with our field of interest but you could also create your own powerpoint and upload it as well.

Storage Choices

I used paint on the desktop to show the physical and virtual ways that you can store your work. In order to get my picture to my blog I used Jing. The two physical ways that I showed, were to use a jump drive and a floppy disk. Floppy disks are not used very much anymore, but still a great way to store information.Jump drives have taken over floppy disks because they are small and can store a large amount of information.

YouTube is a great place to post any videos that you may have, for example when we used the Jing tool to capture a video, we could upload it to YouTube for people to view. Blogger is also a great way for others to view your work because they just need the link and they can view all your information. The desktop is a easy way to store information, however it does limit on you on what you can show people. Last but not least is Jing. This is a newer tool to me, but so far it has been a lot of help in capturing images and capturing videos.

The teaching standard I would use is number 2. Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments
A.
design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity.

Video Capture on Jing

I used the Jing video capture to show people hoe to go into a word document and highlight a sentence.

Picasso Head

Picasso Head was a very interesting and creative program where you can go and be as creative as you want to be by making your own Picasso mater piece!

Jing Experience

Today we worked with the Jing tool which allows you to capture an image and save it to your desktop. I think that this would have been a great tool to have, however I was unable to save my image and when I tried to do the update in order to save my image it would not run the update, therefore I was not able to save my captured image to the desktop. :(

Snipping Tool

My captured image

The standard that fits the snipping tool assignment is standard 1. B

1. Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity

b. engage students in exploring real-world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources.

It fits the assignment because we are solving problems of being able to capture images though a simple tool that can be found on your computer.
